One of the wonderful things about Amazon is that you can have the best of both worlds when it comes to shipping: you can order from them and be guaranteed that your order will arrive in time, but you can also use Amazon to view all of your past orders from that product as well. There are a few ways to go about this, but one of the easiest places to start is the Amazon Archive Search.
Amazon keeps track of your purchases through the process of placing a 1-Click Order, which is a process in which you can click on a product link on a website and purchase it from Amazon without further action on your part. The problem with this system is that when you place an order, it is not immediately visible to you on Amazon, which can lead to uncertainties about whether or not an order was placed or if you placed an order.
In today’s world, online shopping is increasing day by day. And chances are you’ve already ordered something online at least once.
However, the best known example of an online marketplace for e-commerce is Amazon, which sells hundreds of products in almost every category.
But did you know that once you’ve placed an order on Amazon, you can’t delete it.
Yes, you read that right!
Amazon tracks every action taken on its platform. In this way, everything you buy becomes part of the digital file.
If you can’t delete your order history, you can make sure others can’t see it, using a process called archiving.
What are archiving commands?
Archived orders are orders that you don’t want to appear in your shopping cart, but will show up in your search.
An order may be archived for the following reasons:
- If information about the purchase reaches the person for whom the gift is intended, the surprise is spoiled.
- If you ordered something that would make you feel uncomfortable if someone saw it.
- You purchased the item through an Amazon account (friends and family with access to your account).
However, Amazon does not automatically archive orders, so you must do this manually.
You may be wondering: What is the difference between an archive and a deletion?
Archiving and deleting are two completely different things. When you delete a task, it is permanently deleted and cannot be restored later.
But when you archive a task, it is moved to the archive folder by default. Unlike delete, it is not permanent; you can move tasks in and out of the archive folder.
Tip: I also suggest that you clear your search history.
How do I archive Amazon orders?
Say you ordered an item on Amazon and you want to hide it from others. Therefore, you should archive your order.
To archive an order, proceed as follows:
Step one: Sign in to your Amazon account. Click on Returns and Orders on the right side of the menu bar.
Step two: Scroll down the list to find the item you want to archive. I suggest you use the search function (if you have hundreds of items) to find the item on the Your Orders page.
Then click Archive task as shown in the figure below.
Step three: After you have clicked on Archive Job, a window will appear where you have to click on Archive Job again to confirm your action.
If there is more than one item in an order, all items in that order will be archived.
Fact: From this point, you can store up to 500 orders in your Amazon account.
How do I find the archive documents?
As already mentioned, archiving tasks are not deleted. They can therefore be considered in two different ways.
Method 1: Search archive orders in your orders
Step one: Open your favorite web browser on your desktop and go to the Amazon website. If you are not logged in, click on Login and log in with your details.
Step two: Click on Returns and Orders in the top bar.
In case your orders are not displayed.
Try another method, i.e. move your mouse over Accounts and Lists and click on your commands.
Step three: On the Your Orders page, click the drop-down list for the last 6 months under the Orders tab. At the end of the list you will see the archived orders.
Step four: When you click Archived Orders, it displays all the items you have archived.
If you want to move the archived items to the order page, click Unarchive Order.
Clicking Cancel Order will return your item to the order page.
Method 2: Search archive jobs in your account
Step one: Go to Amazon and sign in to your desktop account.
Step two: Go to Accounts and Lists in the top pane and click on your account.
Step three: You will be redirected to the Your account page. Under Order and Purchase Options, click Archived Orders.
Step four: Your archive orders will be shown.
Clearing browsing history
You have now successfully archived your orders, but your browsing history is still visible. This is not a big problem if the account is used independently.
If the account is shared with other users, you must delete the browsing history.
To delete the browsing history, do the following:
Step one: First, you need to log into your Amazon account and click on your browsing history.
Step two: To remove the selected item from the search history, click the Remove button in the view below the item.
To clear all history, click the Manage History drop-down list and select Clear All in the view.
Step three: You can even block Amazon from collecting your data by clicking Manage History and setting the slider to Disable/Browsing History.
Message: You can search and order on Amazon using an incognito browser or in a private window. This way, your data is not stored, but you do have to log into your account each time.
Bonus: Using the Amazon Home Account
An unused way to hide your purchase is to have a private Amazon account.
A household account allows you to create multiple users (up to 10) under one account. You can share the benefits of Amazon with adults, teens, and children.
This account allows you to keep a separate history of purchases and referrals. However, adults can still view your purchase history, but it will be hidden from teens and children.
Your Amazon home account may contain the following profiles:
- Two adults who are at least 18 years old and have their own Prime account.
- Up to four profiles of young people between the ages of 13 and 17.
- Up to four profiles of children aged 12 and under.
This is the best way to keep your family’s shopping history alive.
Archiving is the best and only way to hide your orders from others. However, anyone can view them in the archives if they have access to your account.
You can place an order from a different account or evict other users from your account.
